The Kappa Delta chapter house was built in 1921. With the aid of loyal alumnae, funds were raised and the present 2102 Sunset Drive location was purchased. Since then, Kappa Delta has grown considerably. A west wing was added in 1936 and the south wing was added in 1969. Kappa Delta offers members a beautiful house with tradition and a comfortable place to call home.
We have a big screen TV with cable, wireless internet, free copy machine, 24-hour kitchen and a Coke pop machine. Kappa Delta employs a full-time housekeeper, a cook, and waiters.
Kappa Delta welcomes guests into our home on a regular basis - an apartment is available for family members to stay at the chapter house for free.
The women of Kappa Delta love to spend time in our back yard. It is perfect for relaxing, playing games and studying on our wireless internet. We also have a beautiful garden tended by our House Mother.
Members of Kappa Delta enjoy all of the amenities the chapter house offers but there is nothing better than the comfort of knowing you will always have a sister to come home to!

Kappa Deltas strive to make great things happen in the lives of women on our campus and in our community. Kappa Delta is committed to inspiring women to reach their full potential by offering opportunities for leadership, community service, and sisterhood by promoting confidence in women and young girls.
|Philanthropy||Kappa Delta Sorority is committed to giving back to the community and empowering women. Kappa Delta sponsors four national philanthropies, more than any other National Panhellenic Sorority. Our four philanthropy projects support Prevent Child Abuse America and Iowa, Girl Scouts of the USA, Children's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia and the American Academy for Orthopaedic Surgeons. Kappa Delta's all over the nation raise money for Prevent Child Abuse with their very own Shamrock Event. The Sigma Sigma Chapter of Kappa Delta, at Iowa State University, supports this effort with the "Kappa Delta Classic" golf tournament in the fall and "Kappa Delta Shakes" food philanthropy in the spring. At the 3rd Annual Kappa Delta Classic, Kappa Delta raised money and donated over $21,000 to Prevent Child Abuse America and Iowa. Kappa Deltas are very lucky to have partnered with the Girl Scouts of the USA. The Girl Scouts and Kappa Deltas have made special bonds since both organizations collaborated on a national level in 1998. The Sigma Sigma Chapter of Kappa Delta holds at least one event a month with the local Girl Scout troupes. In the Spring, one of the events we hold includes helping the young women sell Girl Scout Cookies. Some other events we've had in the past include career workshops, campus and Ames wide scavenger hunts, sledding, and camping - with s'mores!|
