Greek Visit Day 
April 8-10, 2016

Greek Visit Day is an opportunity for high school students and current students at Iowa State to experience Greek life at Iowa State University. Greek Visit Day is packeted full of unique activities that give participants a preview into Greek life values including leadership, civic engagement, social justice, friendship and academics. 

  • Get a recruitment and intake sneek peak
  • Learn about philanthropic and community service projects 
  • Interact with other prospective and current members
  • Men have the option to stay in a fraternity house Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 10. Registration for the overnight is required. 
  • Tour sorority or fraternity houses
  • And much more! 

The cost is $20 per student. Family members are encouraged to attend with students- for free! After March 25, the price increases to $30 per student.
Please note that this cost does not include lunch. Meal tickets for lunch will be available for purchase at a later date and on-site.

Friday, April 8
4:00 PM                     Optional Iowa State Campus Tour        Memorial Union
Students and families interested in touring Iowa State's campus can sign up for a campus tour provided by a Student Admissions Representative (STAR). Pre-registration is required.

5:00 PM- 6:00 PM     Check in for men staying overnight       Scheman Building
Men who choose to stay overnight in a chapter house will check in on the first floor of the Scheman Building. Receive your materials for the weekend and be escorted to your host chapter. Pre-registration is required.

7:00 PM- 9:00 PM    Sorority Sisterhood Soiree                Multicultural Center, Memorial Union
Women and their families who are in Ames early can visit with current Greek women and learn about our ISU Greek sororities! Join us for presentations about going Greek! Light refreshments will be served. No registration required. Parking is available in the Memorial Union parking ramp.

7:00 PM- 9:00 PM    Greek ExCYtement                            Greek Community Area 
Men who are staying in a chapter house will have the opportunity to meet with current members from all chapters at this block party event. Food and games will be provided! 

Saturday, April 9

9:00 AM- 10:00 AM    The Greek Experience                         CY Stephens 
The Iowa State University Greek community is like no other adventure. This opening session will cover the basics of the Greek community including an overview about our values, activiites, chapters, and a sneek peek into your adventure at Iowa State. 

10:30 AM- 12:00 PM   Go Greek! Expect More!                        Various Locations 
Being a member of a Greek organization is a lifetime commitment. Learn how each of our governing councils conduct recruitment/intake and learn what you need to do to be successful to join a chapter. Please attend the council session that best fits you.

12:00 PM- 1:00 PM     Greeks Give Back Luncheon                 Central Campus 
Community service and philanthroy work is a value of the Greek community. Learn about community service efforts and how the community gives back to Iowa State, Ames and beyond. Grab lunch from one of the booths and donate to a cause! Tickets are available for pre-purchase or on-site. 

1:15 PM- 4:00 PM       Chapter House Tours and Meetings      Various Locations
The ISU Greek community has 43 chapters with houses which offer a wonderful living option for our members. Get an inside look at our houses, all within walking distance of campus. Chapters without houses will also have activities at this time.

4:00 PM- 5:00 PM       All You Need To Know                           Scheman Building 
Get all of your Greek questions answered during this session! 

5:00 PM                      Fraternity Overnight Check In/Reassignment/Check Out 
Men have the option to stay overnight in a chapter house Friday through Sunday. Check in or reassigment to a different fraternity will start at 5:00 PM

5:00 PM                      Dinner On Your Own & Depart

Choosing a fraternity can be one of the most important decisions in your collegiate years. Learn how to choose the best fraternity for you and more about the Interfraternity Council recruitment process before heading home. Please note that some chapters will be hosting events after this closing session.
