The Greek Community values family involvement

Parents and Family

The Greek Community exists as a proven support network for your student. Nearly a million students across the country are members of a Greek Community. Based on the 2001 Student Leadership Survey at Iowa State University, students who live in the Greek Community valued their leadership and community living experience higher than their peers living in the Residence Halls.

Through Greek Community membership, your students will experience: academic support, hands-on leadership experience, financial management, event planning, additional exposure to faculty and administrators, alumni support, philanthropic service, lifelong friendships, networking for future career and professional opportunities.

"The Greek Community has been a fantastic experience for my kids at ISU. My son and older daughter both joined their freshmen years. One of the best experiences they have not yet realized, will be the long lasting friendships they will have with their fraternity brothers or sorority sisters long after they graduate. That has been a highlight for me ever since I graduated from college 29 years ago."
—Chuck Laug, Greek Community Member & Parent of Greek Students

"Our son found a sense of brotherhood and belonging at Iowa State University when he joined his fraternity. It brought him together with students who cared about and supported his academic success. He is learning leadership and contributing to his community."
—Pat & Jim Lahr, Parents of a Greek Student
