Greek Visit Day is an opportunity for high school students and current students at ISU to experience Greek life at Iowa State University. Greek Visit Day is packed full of unique activities that give participants a preview into Greek life including leadership, philanthropy, friendship and academics:

  • Men have the option of staying in a fraternity house Friday, April 10 through Sunday, April 12. Registration is required.
  • Tour sorority or fraternity houses
  • Get a recruitment sneak peak
  • Learn about philanthropy and community service opportunities
  • Interact with other prospective students
  • Meet current members of fraternities and sororities
  • And Much More!

The cost is $20 per student. Family members can attend with the student for free! 
Please note that this cost does not include lunch. Meal tickets for lunch are available for purchase at a later date and on-site (information to come).

9:00 AM- 10:00 AM          The Greek Experience                                                           CY Stephens
                                              The Iowa State University Greek community is like no other adventure. This opening session will cover                                                 the basics of the Greek community including an overview about our values, activities, chapters, and a                                                     sneak peek into your adventure at Iowa State. Special guests and performances will start your day off                                                      right!

10:30 AM-12:00 PM         Go Greek! Expect More!                                                            Memorial Union
                                              Being a member of a Greek organization is a lifetime commitment. Lean how each of our governing                                                       councils conducts recruitment/intake and learn what you need to do to be successful to join a chapter.                                                    Please attend the council session that best fits you.

12:00 PM-1:30 PM           Greeks Give Back Lunch                                                         Central Campus
                                             
Community service and philanthropy work is a value of the Greek community. Learn about                                                                        community service efforts and how the community gives back to Iowa State, Ames and beyond.                                                                Grab lunch from one of the booths and donate to a good cause! Tickets are available for purchase on-                                                  site.

1:45 PM – 4:00 PM          Chapter House Tours                                                                 Greek Community Area
                                             The ISU Greek community has 38 chapters with houses which offer a wonderful living option for our                                                         members. Get an inside look at our houses, all within walking distance of campus. Women will have a                                                   schedule provided to them upon check in (preference accepted on your registration). Recruitment                                                          counselors will be able to assist you find each chapter you would like to visit. Chapters without houses                                                    will also have activities during this time.

3:00 PM- 4:00 PM           It's All Greek to Me! Everything You Need to Know!               Scheman Building
                                            Get all of your Greek questions answered during this session for families. Please plan to meet your                                                         student at the Scheman building following this session.

4:00 PM- 5:00 PM           Optional Student Leader and Staff Meet and Greet                  Scheman Building
                                            Have additional questions? We have answers! Visit one-on-one with an Office of Greek Affairs staff                                                         member or student leader to answer any last minute questions.

5:00 PM                             Dinner on your own and depart

5:00 PM                             Fraternity overnight check in or re-assignment                          Scheman Building
                                             
Men have the option to stay overnight in a chapter house. Check in for the overnight or re-assignment to                                                  a different fraternity with a facility will start at 5:00 PM.
