It all began at Colby College in Waterville, Maine in the fall of 1874. Since then Sigma Kappa has grown to more than 110 collegiate chapters in 35 states and more than 150 alumnae chapters and clubs. In total, Sigma Kappa has 129,000 members worldwide. That's a lot of great women sharing a sisterhood and living our motto: One Heart, One Way. The Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority was chartered in the 1920's at Iowa State University (then Iowa State College). The chapter house at 233 Gray Avenue was built in 1921 and later expanded in 1969.
