Alpha Tau Omega is a fraternity that prides itself on the development of leadership abilities in young men, and is known for being "The Leadership Fraternity." The Iowa State members of "ATO" work hard to uphold this national image by providing countless opportunities for members to take on leadership roles and take ownership of various responsibilities that will prepare them to be leaders later on in life. The members of the Iowa State chapter focus on three important principles: developing character, preparing for the future, and having fun while managing college responsibilities. Our Fraternity is proud to be the recipient of a True Merit Bowl for the 2007-2008 academic year, placing us among the top 25 chapters in the nation out of all Alpha Tau Omega chapters. The award is given based on excellence in Scholarship, Brotherhood, Recruitment, Philanthropy and Community Service, and Financial Management.
