The Kappa Delta chapter house was built in 1921. With the aid of loyal alumnae, funds were raised and the present 2102 Sunset Drive location was purchased. Since then, Kappa Delta has grown considerably. A west wing was added in 1936 and the south wing was added in 1969. Kappa Delta offers members a beautiful house with tradition and a comfortable place to call home.

We have a big screen TV with cable, wireless internet, free copy machine, 24-hour kitchen and Coke and Pepsi pop machines. Kappa Delta employs a full-time housekeeper, a cook and waiters.

Kappa Delta welcomes guests into our home on a regular basis-an apartment is available for family members to stay at the chapter house for free.

The women of Kappa Delta love to spend time in our back yard. It is perfect for relaxing, playing games and studying on our wireless internet. We also have a beautiful garden tended by our House Mother.

Members of Kappa Delta enjoy all of the amenities the chapter house offers but there is nothing better than the comfort of knowing you will always have a sister to come home to!

Kappa Delta Sorority is a national organization for women who want to make great things happen. The Kappa Deltas at Iowa State have the same goal: to do great things while always remembering our motto, “to strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.” The Sigma Sigma chapter of Kappa Delta was established on April 11, 1908. Our chapter has initiated more than 2,000 women throughout the last 100 years. This past April, many sisters from all over the nation returned to Iowa State to celebrate the centennial. When a woman joins the KD organization, she makes a life-long commitment to the sisterhood.

PhilanthropyKappa Delta Sorority is committed to servicing the community and empowering women. Kappa Delta sponsors four national philanthropies, more than any other National Panhellenic Sorority. Our four philanthropy projects support Prevent Child Abuse America and Iowa, Girl Scouts of the USA, Children's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia and the American Academy for Orthopaedic Surgeons. Every March, Kappa Delta's all over the nation raise money for Prevent Child Abuse with their very own Shamrock Project. The KDs at Iowa State support this effort with the Shamrock Spaghetti Dinner. In March of 2008, Kappa Delta celebrated 25 years of raising money for Prevent Child Abuse America and Iowa and donated over $2,000 to the cause. Kappa Deltas are very lucky to have partnered with the Girl Scouts of the USA. The Girl Scouts and KDs have made special bonds over the years. The KDs and the local Girl Scout troupe get together several times per semester. Some things we have done in the past are bake cookies, have a sleep over, walk in the VEISHEA parade and earn badges.
