PhilanthropyOur national philanthropy is assistance to the speech and hearing impaired and The Painted Turtle camp. The Painted Turtle, which is based in California, is a camp for kids with disabilities including hearing impaired children. Also, Delta Zeta partnered with The Starkey Hearing Foundation which has a program titled "So The World May Hear." With this philanthropy money is raised to purchase hearing aides for children in third world countries. Our national philanthropic project is Sound Beginnings which raises awareness of the need for newborn hearing screenings and the importance of early intervention by six months of age when a hearing loss is identified. Delta Zeta raises money locally for these organizations through two annually held philanthropies. In the fall, DZ Car Wash is held during the first few weeks of the school year. During the spring semester,DZ Dogs takes place. An all you can eat hot dog buffet, is held at our house. It is always a huge success and something that we look forward to every spring!
