The event is coordinated with the members of the Ames Area Running Club. Proceeds from Run for the Roses are donated to the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation which distributes donations for arthritis research grants and other research funding. In 2007, Run for the Roses raised over $9500. Also in 2007, Iota Sigma Chapter won the largest total giving award and highest per member giving award at our bi-annual convention.
