2035 Sunset Dr.
Ames, IA 50014
The Iowa Gamma Chapter of Phi Delta Theta was founded on Iowa State's campus in 1913. We moved into the old Alphi Phi Sorority house on Sunset Drive, right down the street from Sorority Circle, in 1998. ISU Phi Delts have had a long history of academics and involvement. We've consistently been ranked in the top ten for fraternity GPA. We are one of two fraternities that are involved in all four major Greek events (Homecoming, VEISHEA, Varieties, and Greek Week). Phi Delts are represented in many campus organizations, and have held executive positions in Freshmen Council, VEISHEA, and Blood Drive. The Iowa Gamma Chapter is mainly responsible for bringing Dance Marathon to the Iowa State University campus. Our members hold positions through the entire hierarchy of Dance Marathon and always have one of the largest amounts of participants. The Harvard Trophy, given to the Best Overall Large Chapter of Phi Delta Theta in the United States, frequents 2035 Sunset Drive. Over our 90-year history, we've won the Harvard 17 times, including five consecutive wins between the years of 2000 and 2004. When the old Harvard Trophy was retired a few years ago, it took up permanent residence in our foyer. Phi Delta Theta continues to be the standard for brotherhood.
